Reproductive Mental Health

As a survivor of postpartum depression, a particular passion of mine is supporting clients working on reproductive mental health issues. These include but aren't limited to:

  • Birth trauma

  • Pregnancy and birth loss

  • Fertility issues

  • Abortion

  • Postpartum depression and anxiety

  • Postpartum OCD

  • Depression/anxiety in pregnancy

  • Early parenting challenges

I know first-hand how hard the transition to parenthood can be. It is a wild ride, and it's often not as smooth as we are promised it will be. The way can be made even more difficult if we are part of groups that are systemically oppressed such as the LGBTQ+ community, or parents of color.

No matter what your journey involves, you deserve compassionate, nonjudgmental support. You deserve competent care from providers who understand perinatal mental health, and who honor the diverse ways we conceive, parent, and nurture our children. If you are suffering from feelings of depression or anxiety, including increased irritability in relationship to a conception, pregnancy, termination, or birth experience, you are not alone, and with help, you will be well. Together, we can help you find your innate healing, whatever your path.

Many clients ask me what training I have in this area. I served as volunteer coordinator with Postpartum Support International for three years and have completed their Components of Care course twice, last in 2019. I completed my graduate internship with Luna PErinatal Therapy in Madison, WI from 2014-2015. I am also a trained abortion doula through Spiral Collective in Minneapolis, MN, and a member of Madison Posptartum Collective.
